I am pleased to announce that the first teaser trailer for THEM is out and available to view on YouTube and Vimeo! Seeing as the trailer is a teaser trailer there is actually no in-game footage just yet. A trailer will be released in the coming weeks showing the various game options and gameplay. For the teaser I wanted to focus on creating the underlying “story” for the game and create a base for the user to understand what the game is about. In the trailer it mentions that Albert (The main character) is a former intelligence operative and that he was selling state secrets. This is the main focus of the game itself as it explains why guys are trying to kill Albert and why he is fighting back. Yes, it’s not in-depth and it’s not a revolutionary story, but it is something simple. That fact is important when creating a pick-up-and-play game. You’re users don’t want a half hour of introductory cinematics or 20 hours of amazingly epic story telling. Simple is best on a platform where users may only play for a minute or two in a row. The very short description of THEM is: “An organization wants to kill you. Don’t let them!” It’s as simple as that.
